The American Mathematical Society (AMS) is an association of professional mathematicians dedicated to the interests of mathematical research and scholarship, which it does with various publications and conferences as well as annual monetary awards and prizes to mathematicians. The society is one of the four parts of the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics (JPBM) and a member of the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences (CBMS). It was founded in 1888 as the New York Mathematical Society. It was reorganized under its present name and became a national society in 1894. Its headquarter was moved from New York City to Providence, Rhode Island in 1951. Other offices were added in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1984 and in Washington, D.C. in 1992.

The American Statistical Association is the world’s largest community of statisticians. The ASA supports excellence in the development, application, and dissemination of statistical science through meetings, publications, membership services, education, accreditation, and advocacy. Its members serve in industry, government, and academia in more than 90 countries, advancing research and promoting sound statistical practice to inform public policy and improve human welfare. The ASA publishes scholarly journals; statistical magazines; and a variety of conference proceedings, books, and other materials related to the practice of statistics.

IMU is an international non-governmental and non-profit scientific organization, with the purpose of promoting international cooperation in mathematics. It is a member of the International Council for Science (ICSU). Objectives of the IMU are promotion of international cooperation in mathematics; support and assistance to the International Congress of Mathematicians and other international scientific meetings or conferences; and to encourage and support other international mathematical activities considered likely to contribute to the development of mathematical science in any of its aspects, pure, applied, or educational.

London Mathematical Society, founded in 1865, is the UK society for mathematics with a nationwide and international membership. Its main activities include publishing journals and books, providing grants to support mathematics and organizing scientific meetings and lectures. Society is also involved in policy and strategic work to support mathematics and its research community; as well as engaging with government and policy-makers on mathematics education and research, participating in international mathematical initiatives and promoting the discipline.
