UpToDate is a popular clinical decision support tool combining clinical evidence with expert opinion and designed to be useful at the point-of-care.  UpToDate includes the following features:

• Clinical topic summaries
• Practice changing updates
• Society practice guidelines
• Patient education
• Drug information and Lexicomp® Drug Interactions tool
• Medical calculators
• Opportunities to earn CE/CME credits

UptoDate can be accessed via the library web site.  The library's subscription also includes the UpToDate App which can be installed on 2 mobile devices.

The UTRGV library provides access to UpToDate via the Web.  Click on the link below from a Web browser.  If you are off-campus, you will  be prompted to login with their UTRGV email address and password before accessing UpToDate.

Accessing Your UpToDate Account: Use the Login button (top right corner) and click the option to Sign in with OpenAthens to create/access your personal UpToDate Account using your UTRGV email address and password.

 The UTRGV Library also provides access to UpToDate via mobile app.  Follow the directions below to install and activate the app.

1. Go to the app store for your mobile device and download the UpToDate app.
2. After installing the app, open it. You will be prompted to login with your UpToDate account.
3. Click the option to Sign in with OpenAthens.
4. In the Find your institution box, enter University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
5. When prompted, login with your UTRGV email address and password.
6. Users may install the UptoDate mobile app on up to 2 devices.
